Julia’s House Nurse Recruitment in Wiltshire

Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice charity, has extended its nurse recruitment campaign in Wiltshire to Registered Nurses who have extensive experience of working with children.  
The charity, which cares and supports local children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families, has seen its service grow due to advances in medicine leading to more children being born and living longer with these conditions.   By 2022, Julia’s House will be supporting 166 families across Wiltshire and Dorset; 103 in Wiltshire.
Director of Care at Julia’s House, Ali Acaster, said: “It is exciting that we are now able to open applications to Registered Nurses who have extensive experience of working with children, not just specialist paediatric nurses, so we hope this will enable more nurses to apply and join an award-winning care team.

“Julia’s House is a unique place to work; a unique place to be a nurse.  While we do of course provide palliative care, our highly skilled nursing team are mainly enabling our children and families to make the most of life.  Whether at the hospice or out and about in the community, a Julia’s House nurse is a job like no other.  You have the time to really get to know the families you support and that relationship is what enables us to offer a truly bespoke service, providing care that goes way beyond looking after the clinical needs of the child.

“Whether you’re taking a child to Scouts, giving exhausted parents a chance to catch up on much needed sleep, having a coffee and chat with a teenager or doing arts and crafts with enthusiastic pre-schoolers, there is never a typical day at Julia’s House.  It is a very special nursing role and a very special place to work.”
