Malmesbury League of Friends (MLOF) and local reseller and auctioneer Hilditch Group have together purchased two special recliner wheelchairs chairs for residents at Athelstan House (AH), the order of St John Care Trust care home next to the Primary Care Centre.
The Hilditch Group specialises in the sale of used medical equipment both in the UK and overseas, including developing countries where their need is greatest.
The chairs, each costing over £2,000, are designed to provide comfort and relief to the residents with severe mobility problems.
Fiona Hocken, Customer Relationship Manager at AH, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the two Configura Advance chairs, which have made a huge difference for our residents, who are extremely grateful to both Hilditch and MLOF”.
Becci Jobes, Front Office Controller at Hilditch, said: “Although we provide medical equipment both throughout the UK and overseas, we are always keen to support our local community. We are very pleased to have worked with MLOF to provide these chairs.”
MLOF chairman David Hide said: “ We are delighted to have received such generous support from Hilditch, a local business that is a real asset to the town.”
