Bradford on Avon’s tennis courts at Culver Close have been fully refurbished over autumn and are ready for play.
We doubled up with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to improve the 3 tennis courts with the investment of £72,000, as part of the LTA’s £30m Park Tennis Project.
With the work complete, the courts are now open and available for booking on our ClubSpark webpage.
Councillor Jack Vittles, the Mayor of Bradford on Avon said: “I’m thrilled that we have been able to resurface and upgrade the tennis courts without any cost to residents.
“We’re continuing to improve our sport and recreation facilities in the town, and the tennis courts will now last for many decades to come,” he continued.
“All money raised from the new small charge to use the courts will be ringfenced for future maintenance, meaning they will be self-sufficient and sustainable. I can’t wait to see everyone back using them!”
Following the improvements, there are some changes to how you play, including a new booking system and charges.
The courts now have online booking and smart access gate entry system in place to reserve your time slot to play.
You can pay-as-you-play for £6 per hour, or go for an annual Household Membership, which offers more flexibility and savings.
Household Memberships are £40 per year, allowing up to 2 hours of court time per day and a maximum of 14 hours each week.
In addition to £65,000 investment from the UK Government and the LTA Foundation, the Medlock Charitable Trust provided further support to ensure the courts were refurbished to a high standard.
