Charity group Threshold have received a big boost in their efforts to help homeless people in Swindon this week with the announcement of a new tie-up with Sainsbury’s! The store in Stratton has offered to supply excess bakery products to the charity on a daily basis and Threshold are delighted to be able to use this to help feed many more people currently on the streets. Kristie Phillips, Events & Fundraising Co-ordinator for the organisation, says, ‘we are experiencing a high level of homelessness right now in Swindon and this offer of help from Sainsbury’s is as timely as it is welcome. This will enable us to provide hot, nourishing meals for folk who really need them’. For Sainsbury’s, Store Manager Val Atwill is equally pleased with the partnership. ‘To be able to set this up on a regular basis is hugely satisfying and, like Kristie, hope we can turn this into a long term relationship’.
