Royal Wootton Bassett is a small, attractive market town with a recorded history spanning 1300 years. The characterful high street is a busy, thriving thoroughfare that is home to businesses and many independent shops. The town's most notable landmark is the striking black and white town hall, supported on 15 pillars and dating back to the 18th century. The town is two miles from the M4, making it attractive for commuters and visitors looking to explore the area - including Bath and the Cotswolds. Did you know? Royal Wootton Bassett is one of the few places in England to have been honoured with a royal title. The renaming took place in 2011, in recognition of the town's role in  military funeral repatriations.
