Malmesbury Concert Band’s Film Night Cabaret
The Malmesbury Concert Band’s popular annual concert, to be held again in the Wesleyan Room at the Town Hall on Saturday, 16th November, will this year have the theme “Film Night Cabaret”.
The cabaret theme follows last year’s triumphant, sell-out, “Musicals” concert when the whole Wesleyan Room was transformed into a night club, with small, candle-lit tables and lights.
The audience will enjoy an unforgettable evening of popular numbers from the movies, including Tara’s Theme, Lawrence of Arabia, The Entertainer, Murder on the Dance Floor, arranged by the band’s John Ivor Holland, and Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Musical Director Arthur Robb said: “We are delighted to be returning to the Town Hall again after our triumphant Musicals concert last year. This year’s programme will take the audience on a journey through a diverse selection of powerful and iconic movie scores. It should be a great evening.”
The programme will also include three other conductors, MCB President and former Director of Music Tony Fleming, band chairman Ben Randall-Sly and flautist Sharyn Wilson.
Tickets, costing just £12 or £6 for students and those under 16, can be purchased on-line through the band’s web site at www.malmesburyconcertband.org.uk
