Corsham based potter Jon Roynon, who reached the finals of 2023’s Great Pottery Throwdown, will be joining artists from North Wiltshire, including Chippenham, in this year’s Peacock Arts Trail. The free event takes place from Saturday 7 to Sunday 15 October.
Artists and makers open their studios or take part in group exhibitions across Corsham, Melksham, Box, Chippenham and surrounding villages. It’s a wonderful way to explore get ‘off the beaten track’, discover some truly unique locations and chat with fascinating people.
“Some talented Chippenham artists are taking part”, said Peacock volunteer Rachael Holtom. “Galit from ‘Crafted Glow Textiles’ and Claire from ‘Tidal Art UK’ are exhibiting at Pew Hill, and at Chittoe painter Mary Wilkinson and photographer Claire Newman-Williams are welcoming visitors. Something very different this year is at Kington St Michael where the Labouchere family open their workshop containing an automaton containing eight working features and a music box.”
