Trowbridge Annual Remembrance Sunday Service 2024
Join us in honouring those who served and sacrificed at Trowbridge’s Annual Remembrance Sunday Service, Sunday 10th November 2024. The service will be held at St James’ Church along with the traditional Wreath Laying Ceremony at the War Memorial in Trowbridge Town Park.
Military and civic dignitaries will gather outside of the Town Hall and proceed to St James’ Church. After the church service, the parade will pass through the town. Military and civic dignitaries will take the salute as the parade passes the saluting dais positioned on Silver Street. After the parade has passed the saluting dais, it will continue on to the War Memorial. The Town Crier will invite wreath layers to come forward and lay their respective wreaths. At the conclusion of the service, the parade will be dismissed and The Civic Centre will open for refreshments.
Schedule:
09.15 am – Parade forms outside the Town Hall, Market Street 09.30 am – Parade moves to St James’ Church 09.45 am – Service commences in St James’ Church 10.30 am – Parade re-forms outside St James’ Church 10.40 am – Parade moves towards the war memorial; a salute will be taken en route 10.50 am – Parade arrives at the war memorial in Trowbridge Park 10.55 am – Positions taken at the war memorial 10.57 am – VIPs and Rector arrive in front of the war memorial 10.58 am – Remembrance Service commences 10.59 am – Last Post 11.00 am – Two minutes silence 11.30 am – Remembrance service ends and the Civic Centre opens for refreshments
Please Note: Road closures will be in effect along the parade route between 9:10am and 11:10am. There will be limited seating in St James’ Church; standing may be required.
